Since the District 324-D1 has been bifurcated our Lions Club comes under the new District 324-D6 with effect from 1st July 2006. Lions Club of Bangalore North would be hosting the Hunting Lions in the Air Contest 2008 from Jan 2008 thru its Amateur (Ham) Radio Club Station VU2LCI. Lions International Stamp Club - India Chapter is yet another proposal to begin but the activities such as Special Postal Cancellation and Special Postal Covers are already released on occations of World Sight Day 1999 and 2006. Membership is open for those who are interested to serve in and around Bangalore City - Please contact our Membership chairman or our President else email us on lions@vsnl.net Bi-Weekly eye Camps for Rural and Bi-Weekly eye Camps for Urban District of Bangalore City is conducted in association with Minto Hospital as the Outreach Program. Bala Mano Vikasa Kendra - School for mentally challenged children at Malleswaram building built with aid from LCIF. Bangalore North Education Society College building built with aid from LCIF. Urban Family Welfare Centre caters Women and Child health at Seshadripuram. Amateur (Ham) Radio Club Station - VU2LCI - Lions Clubs International educates Disaster Management and provided Emergency Communication with 8 members being Hams and club procuring HF equipments (Yaesu FT 840, FT 757GX). FOUR Lioness Clubs (i.e. Bangalore Jagrutha, North, North Gardens, North HMT) formed thru this club has their own independent activities !!! Blood Donation Camps, Immunisation Camps can be organised thru our UFWC / LCBN Bangalore North - Koramanagala Leo Club with Fifteen youngsters was installed on 21st Feb 2007 by PDG Govindraj. This Lionistic Year (2006-7) we have hosted two new Lions Club that is Lions Club of Bangalore HSR and Lioness Lion Club of Spoorthi. Lions Club of Bangalore North is twinned with Lions Club of Charlottesville Host(District 24C), Virginia, USA, Lions Club of Jarvenpaa (Finland), Lions Club of Exeter (UK) and Lions Club of Westlake (Ohio, USA).
